RIYADH — The Saudi Pro League (SPL) announced Tuesday that Matchweek 13 of the 2026-27 Roshn Saudi League (RSL) will be rescheduled following the postponement of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027.
The decision comes as part of a broader review of the domestic league calendar after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed revised dates for the continental tournament.
The Asian Cup, originally scheduled for Jan. 7 to Feb. 5, 2027, will now take place from Dec. 23, 2027, to Jan. 21, 2028.
The SPL said the revised tournament dates provide greater flexibility to adjust the remaining fixtures of the 2026-27 season, with the review aimed at achieving a more balanced distribution of matches while ensuring adequate rest and recovery periods for players.
As part of the process, the league will hold a workshop with RSL clubs to discuss the proposed calendar changes and gather feedback before finalizing the revised schedule.
The SPL said new dates for Matchweek 13 will be announced once the review is completed and the updated calendar is agreed upon in coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
