RIYADH — The Council of Ministers reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering resolve to safeguard its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, declaring that any threat or aggression against its national security or the safety of its citizens and residents would be met with a firm and resolute response. Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman chaired the Cabinet session in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The Cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments, underscoring the Kingdom’s continued diplomatic engagement, in close coordination with friendly nations, to reinforce regional security, preserve stability, and advance the causes of development, prosperity and lasting peace for the peoples of the region.

At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the contents of the two messages addressed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince from King of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, as well as the message the Crown Prince sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping. He also briefed the Cabinet on his phone calls with Korean President Lee Jae Myung, President of Romania Nicușor Dan, and Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez, alongside the outcomes of his reception of Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation in meetings held under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the G20. This was part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support multilateral action aimed at strengthening mechanisms for joint cooperation across various fields, serving mutual interests and benefits, and contributing to effective and sustainable solutions to current global challenges, particularly those related to maritime navigation security, energy, food security, global trade, and supply chains.

The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s rejection of all violations that threaten the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. It stressed the importance of urgent action by the international community to ensure maritime security, safeguard the flow of international trade, and enforce international law in this regard.

The Cabinet affirmed that, despite the region’s challenges, the Kingdom has continued to reliably supply energy to global markets, supported by long-term investments in infrastructure, storage facilities, and supply chains, as well as an ecosystem capable of responding to changing circumstances with the highest levels of technical and operational capability. These efforts have contributed to strengthening global energy security and the resilience of supply networks.

The Cabinet authorized the chairman of the board of directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission or his deputy to discuss and sign two draft memoranda of understanding with the National Nuclear Regulator of South Africa and the National Nuclear Safety Authority of Brazil on the exchange of information in nuclear and radiological regulation.

The Council authorized the chairman of the board of directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) or his deputy to discuss and sign a draft cooperation agreement with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina of Egypt, and authorized the minister of human resources and social development or his deputy to discuss and sign a draft MoU between the Saudi and Syrian governments for cooperation in labor market development and skills building.

The Cabinet approved a MoU for cooperation in water resources between the Saudi and Indian governments and another MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan on developing scientific, training, and research cooperation. It approved a MoU for cooperation in radio and television broadcasting between the Saudi Broadcasting Authority and the Moroccan Public Broadcasting Company (SNRT).

The Cabinet approved the National Space Policy. It endorsed the financial oversight rules for endowment accounts overseen or managed by a government entity. The Cabinet decided to transfer a number of the responsibilities and tasks of the Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority to the National Events Center and the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority.
