ADEN — Yemeni government forces said Friday they had neutralized more than 1,400 Houthi fighters in over 2,750 strikes during the previous 24 hours, as Operation Dawn of Yemen continued across multiple battlefronts.

Brig. Gen. Majed Abdullah Al-Nadhib, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said the operations targeted Houthi fortifications, defensive positions, forward observation posts, artillery sites, weapons and ammunition depots, supply facilities and military reinforcements.

In a statement posted on X, Al-Nadhib said the strikes also targeted high-value military assets deep inside Houthi-controlled territory.

Citing preliminary battlefield assessments, the spokesman claimed that more than 1,400 Houthi fighters had been neutralized, while over 250 military vehicles, combat assets and pieces of equipment were destroyed or damaged.

Al-Nadhib said the operations had significantly weakened the Houthis’ ability to maneuver, reinforce their positions and sustain combat operations.

He also reported that government ground forces had breached Houthi defensive lines and fortifications, recaptured strategically important positions and consolidated their territorial gains.

The spokesman said government forces were continuing their offensive according to established operational plans.

Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi announced the launch of Operation Dawn of Yemen on Monday, describing it as a military campaign aimed at retaking the capital Sanaa, restoring state institutions and ending Houthi control.
