    Border Guard arrests 8, seizes 240 kg of khat in Asir, Jazan

    JAZAN/ASIR — Border Guard land patrols arrested eight Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals in Asir and Jazan and seized a total of 240 kilograms of khat in two separate operations.

    In Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Raboua Sector arrested four Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals, violators of the Border Security Law, for smuggling 80 kilograms of khat.

    In Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Daer Sector arrested four Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals for smuggling 160 kilograms of khat.

    Asir Border Guard land patrols arrested four Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals for smuggling 80 kilograms of khat.

    Authorities said initial legal procedures were completed in both cases, with the suspects and seized items handed over to the competent authority.

    The authorities urged the public to report information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, 999 in the rest of the

    Kingdom, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

    Reports can also be submitted to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control via email at [email protected].

    Authorities stressed that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality and that informants will bear no responsibility for the reported incident.
