JEDDAH — Rainfall is forecast to persist across parts of Saudi Arabia from Wednesday through the end of the week, with heavier downpours expected in some areas, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).
According to an animated map issued by the NCM, light to moderate rain is forecast to spread across western Najran, southern parts of the Eastern Province and along the western coast starting Wednesday afternoon.
Later on the rain along the western coast (fromnorth of Jazan until Taif in Makkah) is expected to intensify will the raon in the eastern province and najran will weakdn and disappear and by evening time all rain is forecast to disappear form the Kingdom.
By Thursday afternoon, light to moderate rain will affect south of Asir wiht lighter showers affecting Taif in Makkah and its surrounding area and small areas in the south of the eastern province and Najran. The rain along the western coast will again intensify later in the afternoon will rain elsewhere will weaken.
Rain will persis along the western coast and intensify as lighter showers will scatter across Tabuk, Al Jouf and the Northern Borders early evening.
Later in the evening all rain is expected to leave the Kingdom.
By Friday late in the evening, lighter showers will return to Tabuk, Al Jouf and the Northern Borders and will affect parts of Madina as well, while moderate to heavy rain will affect Taif in Makkah snf the surrounding ares of Abha in Asir.
Early Saturday ,orning will see most rain in the Kingdom will disappear while rain will persist lightly in small areas of the Norther Border and Hail.
The rain will disappear later in teh morning and will return to the same affected areas by the afternoon befire disappearing completely late in the evening.
