JEDDAH — Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected over parts of the Kingdom on Thursday, while hot to extremely hot weather will continue across several regions, with temperatures expected to reach up to 49°C, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).
For the heatwave, hot to extremely hot weather will continue across parts of the Eastern Province, as well as parts of the Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, and Najran regions, with Dammam forecast to record the highest temperature at 49°C.
Riyadh and Makkah are forecast to reach highs of 46°C, while temperatures are expected to climb to 47°C in Madinah and 39°C in Jeddah.
Elsewhere, highs of 32°C are expected in Abha, 41°C in Tabuk and Najran, 45°C in Buraidah, 42°C in Hail, 33°C in Al-Baha, 44°C in Arar, 43°C in Sakaka, and 38°C in Jazan.
As for the NCM’s rain forecast, Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Buraidah, Hail, and Najran are forecast to be partly cloudy, while Jeddah is expected to be partly cloudy with active winds and blowing dust. Dammam is also forecast to experience dust, while Tabuk, Arar, and Sakaka are expected to remain clear.
Abha is expected to experience dust, thunderstorms, and active winds, while Al-Baha is forecast to see dust, scattered rain clouds, and active winds. Jazan is also expected to see thunderstorm clouds accompanied by active winds and blowing dust.
As for active winds, they are expected to affect parts of the Makkah, Madinah, Asir, Al-Baha, Jazan, Riyadh, Najran, and Northern Borders regions, while blowing dust is expected over parts of the Makkah, Riyadh, Jazan, and Northern Borders regions, with visibility potentially reduced to near zero along the coastal road leading to Jazan.
