    Saudi, Sudanese foreign ministers agree to establish coordination council

    RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohieldin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim signed a document establishing the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council in a ceremony held at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh on Monday.

    The council’s establishment reflects the two countries’ keenness to advance cooperation and coordination. The council will serve as an effective institutional platform for developing and strengthening bilateral relations and as an institutional framework bringing together relevant entities from both sides to work toward tangible outcomes. This is through clear initiatives, projects, and targets, thereby enhancing cooperation and integration and fulfilling the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two countries.

    Earlier, the ministers co-chaired a meeting of the Saudi-Sudanese Political Consultation and Follow-Up Committee. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to further develop and strengthen them across various fields. They also discussed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on topics of mutual interest.

    The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation across various fields.
