RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a series of phone calls with his counterparts from Qatar, Jordan and Greece to discuss the latest regional developments and efforts to safeguard freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.

In separate calls on Thursday with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday, Prince Faisal discussed the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions.

The ministers also coordinated and consulted on diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening regional security and stability, while emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the security and freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.

Prince Faisal also held a phone call on Wednesday with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, during which the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the latest developments in the region.

Similarily to the Prince’s regional phone calls, the ministers stressed the importance of protecting the security and freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea as well.

They also rejected any actions or practices that threaten maritime security and the safety of international shipping.
