RIYADH — Land, sea, and air customs ports across Saudi Arabia recorded 1,162 seizures of contraband during the last week.

The seizures included 68 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, Captagon pills, and other illicit drugs, in addition to 363 other prohibited items.

Customs ports also foiled attempts to smuggle 2,486 tobacco products and their derivatives, as well as 38 cash-related cases and 7 types of weapons and related equipment.

The seizures reflect the ongoing efforts of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to strengthen security and protect society from all types and forms of prohibited substances. The ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing customs oversight of the Kingdom’s imports and exports to safeguard society and maintain security through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partners.

The authority also urged the public to support efforts to combat smuggling and protect both society and the national economy by reporting violations through the dedicated security hotline (1910), email ([email protected]), or the international number (009661910). The authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law with complete confidentiality and offers a financial reward to whistleblowers if the provided information was accurate.
