RIYADH — Security Regiments patrols in Al-Dair governorate in the southern Jazan region arrested a Saudi citizen for transporting eight border security violators in a vehicle he was driving.

All the violators were taken into custody, and legal procedures were taken against them. The violators were referred to the
competent authority, while the Saudi driver was referred to the Public Prosecution.

The Ministry of Interior’s Agency for Security Regiments Affairs warned that anyone facilitating the entry of border security violators into Saudi Arabia, transporting them within the country, sheltering them, or providing any form of assistance or service faces penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SR1 million. Penalties also include confiscation of the vehicle used for transportation and the property used for shelter, as well as public naming.

The agency emphasized that the offense is a major crime warranting detention and constitutes a breach of honor and trust. It urged the public to report violations of residency, labor, and border security regulations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province or 999 and 996 elsewhere in Saudi Arabia. All reports will be treated confidentially, with no liability for those reporting, it added.
