    Saudi Border Guard seizes hashish, khat and 112,350 regulated tablets in Jazan, Asir

    JAZAN/ASIR — Saudi Border Guard arrested four border security violators and seized 60 kilograms of khat, approximately 24 kilograms of hashish and 112,350 tablets in separate operations across Jazan and Asir.

    In Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Daer Sector arrested four Ethiopian and Yemeni border security violators for attempting to smuggle 60 kilograms of khat.

    In a separate operation in the Al-Daer Sector of the Jazan Region, Border Guard land patrols foiled an attempt to smuggle 112,350 tablets subject to medical circulation regulations.

    Asir, Border Guard land patrols foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 24 kilograms of hashish.

    Meanwhile, in Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Raboua Sector foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 24 kilograms of hashish.

    Authorities said the necessary preliminary legal procedures had been completed.

    In the khat case, the suspects and seized narcotics were handed over to the competent authority, while the seized items in the other two cases were also handed over to the competent authority.

    Jazan Border Guard land patrols foiled an attempt to smuggle 112,350 tablets subject to medical circulation regulations.

    Authorities urged the public to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, 999 in the rest of the Kingdom, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
