The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes President Donald J. Trump’s announcement of the historic agreement on the decommissioning of weapons in the Gaza Strip. The Kingdom commends President Trump’s leadership and steadfast commitment, which have been instrumental in achieving this important milestone.

The Kingdom expresses its appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Türkiye, the United States, the Board of Peace, and all partners whose sustained efforts made this historic achievement possible.

The Kingdom reaffirms its full commitment to the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan, as endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, in coordination with international and regional partners, and underscores the importance of implementing all agreed phases in a timely, credible, and irreversible manner.

The Kingdom also emphasizes the importance of the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, and the continued, unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance and reconstruction support to the Palestinian people.

In accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, the Kingdom underscores that the return of the Palestinian Authority to the Gaza Strip and the preservation of the unity of the Occupied Palestinian Territory are essential to the successful implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan and to ensuring sustainable stability and lasting peace.

The Kingdom reiterates that this agreement should mark the beginning of a broader political process leading to the full implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan, the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent State, thereby enabling peaceful coexistence between the State of Palestine and Israel on the basis of mutual recognition.

The Kingdom reaffirms that a just and lasting peace can only be achieved through a comprehensive political settlement that brings the conflict to an end and lays the foundation for a future defined by security, stability, and shared prosperity for all the peoples of the region.
