RIYADH — Saudi Arabia and Kenya signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the inaugural meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultations Committee, co-chaired by the Saudi Foreign Minister and Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

The meeting, held on Sunday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh, brought together Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Musalia Mudavadi to strengthen bilateral relations, enhance coordination and consultation, serve the two countries’ mutual interests, and contribute to regional security and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides signed three MoUs.

The first, aimed at promoting direct investment, was signed on the Saudi side by Minister of Investment Fahad Abduljalil Al-Saif and on the Kenyan side by Mudavadi.

The second focused on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters and was signed by Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) Governor Suhail Abanmi and Mudavadi.

The two countries also signed an agreement on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers. The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Abdullah Abuthnain on the Saudi side and Cabinet Secretary for Labor and Social Protection Alfred Mutua on the Kenyan side.

The meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Saad Al-Nafie, and Director General of the General Department for African Countries Saqr Al-Qurashi.
