JEDDAH — Rainfall was recorded across Jeddah governorate and several other regions of Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Moderate to heavy rain was experienced in several parts of the Jeddah governorate and a number of its affiliated centers on Saturday morning and afternoon.

Light to moderate rainfall was recorded across various parts of Madinah region on Saturday morning, while cloudy skies continue to prevail, with further rainfall expected.

In its weather forecast for Saturday, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected moderate to heavy thunderstorms, potentially triggering torrential rains accompanied by hail and active winds stirring up dirt and dust, which could reduce horizontal visibility to near zero in parts of the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Qassim, the Northern Borders, and the northern parts of the Eastern Province, as well as in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Tabuk and Al-Jouf regions, as well as the northern parts of the Riyadh region, while fog formation cannot be ruled out in some areas. The NCM issued a warning of moderate rainfall in Tabuk and Taima, accompanied by strong winds, near-zero horizontal visibility, hail, flowing torrents, and thunderstorms. The center stated that the weather conditions are expected to continue until 8 p.m.

It warned of heavy rainfall in the Hail region, accompanied by hail, active winds, and near-zero horizontal visibility. The warning covers the city of Hail, its governorates, open areas, and highways. The NCM issued a warning of moderate rainfall in the Al-Baha region, accompanied by strong winds, near-zero visibility, torrential flows, hail, and thunderstorms in the governorates of Al-Makhwah, Qalwa, Ghamid Al-Zanad, and Al-Hujrah, as well as neighboring areas.

Light rainfall, accompanied by active winds, reduced horizontal visibility, and thunderstorms, is also expected in the city of Al-Baha and the governorates of Baljurashi, Al-Mandaq, Bani Hassan, the villages, and Al-Aqiq, as well as neighboring areas. The center stated that the weather conditions are expected to continue until 8 p.m.
