The urban design sector within the Quality of Life Program recorded significant progress during 2025, with improved urban indicators and strategic initiatives enhancing the urban landscape across Saudi cities.

Key among these initiatives was the launch of the Saudi Architecture Map by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, featuring 19 architectural styles inspired by Saudi Arabia’s geographical and cultural characteristics. The map is expected to contribute over SAR8 billion to cumulative GDP and generate more than 34,000 job opportunities by 2030.

Urban indicators showed notable improvement across several measures. Citizen satisfaction with municipal services reached 85%, exceeding the 74% target. The per capita share of public spaces increased to 6.10 square meters, surpassing the target of 4.92 square meters, while compliance with Saudi architecture standards across 17 targeted cities reached 76%, meeting the target in full.

In expanding green spaces, 166 parks were established across 11 regions, with over 800,000 trees planted and newly developed green areas reaching nearly 1.84 million square meters.

The national investment portal Furas brought total investment returns from signed contracts to more than SAR9 billion.
