KYIV — Norway will provide Ukraine with 85 billion krone ($9.2 billion) in military and civilian assistance in 2027, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store announced Sunday during a visit to Kyiv.

“Norway will continue to support Ukraine’s defense struggle,” Store said, according to Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

“Now we are sending a clear signal that Norway will continue to stand by, both civilian and military,” he added.

Of the total package, 70 billion krone ($7.5 billion) will be allocated to military support, while 15 billion krone ($1.6 billion) will go toward civilian assistance.

The 2027 commitment will mark the third consecutive year in which Norway has provided 85 billion krone in annual support to Ukraine.

Store arrived in Kyiv on Sunday alongside leaders from Nordic and Baltic countries as Ukraine continues to face intensified Russian missile and drone attacks.

“Every day, the Ukrainian people live with the consequences of Russia’s brutal war,” Store said.

He said the escalation of Russian attacks against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure meant civilians were being “systematically targeted.”

“At the same time, Ukraine continues its fight for freedom, independence and the right to determine its own future,” Store said. “Therefore, it is important that Norway continues to stand with the Ukrainians.”

During his visit, Store is expected to attend a summit bringing together Ukraine and Nordic-Baltic countries, participate in events marking Ukraine’s National Flag Day and hold talks with Ukrainian officials.
