The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has launched a service to qualify contractors in the municipal sector through the Balady Business platform, enabling contracting establishments to meet qualification requirements and obtain accreditation based on unified standards, improve the efficiency of service providers, and enhance their readiness to carry out municipal works and projects.
The ministry said that qualification requirements include valid commercial registration and municipal licenses, completion of classification certificates and required memberships, availability of technical personnel and expertise, and submission of the necessary data and documents through the Balady Business platform.
It stressed that the service applies unified evaluation criteria to verify establishments’ competence, reliability, and readiness, as well as their ability to carry out works and provide municipal services in accordance with approved technical and professional requirements.
The ministry said that contracting establishments have been granted a grace period until June 30, 2027, to complete qualification and accreditation requirements, urging establishments to make use of it and promptly complete the necessary procedures through the platform.
