Adil Ali, General Manager, Hiperdist Gulf, and Salman Syed, Senior Channel Sales & Alliance Manager, Huawei Cloud Middle East, discuss partner enablement, cloud adoption, and emerging opportunities across AI and data services.

Hiperdist’s appointment as an Authorised Huawei Cloud Distributor for the UAE marks a new phase in the companies’ regional collaboration, extending a relationship established across Africa into one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing cloud markets. The partnership aims to expand Huawei Cloud’s channel presence by recruiting and enabling partners while supporting customer demand for cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, AI, data services and managed cloud solutions.

In a joint interview with Reseller Middle East, Adil Ali, General Manager, Hiperdist Gulf, and Salman Syed, Senior Channel Sales & Alliance Manager, Huawei Cloud Middle East, discuss the partnership’s strategic value, growth opportunities, and role in helping partners deliver measurable business outcomes.

    Interview excerpts

How does the partnership with Huawei strengthen Hiperdist’s value proposition and regional channel strategy?
Adil Ali: The partnership with Huawei Cloud significantly strengthens Hiperdist’s position as a value-added technology distributor across the Gulf region. As part of a $2.3 billion group with a presence across Europe, the Middle East and Africa since 1979, we bring established market knowledge and channel reach, while giving our partners access to a broader portfolio of cloud, data and AI technologies. For Hiperdist, the value lies in combining Huawei Cloud’s technology and innovation with our regional reach and partner enablement capabilities. We support partners through onboarding, training and enablement, helping them understand, position and take Huawei Cloud solutions to market.

The partnership strengthens our cloud channel strategy by enabling us to build a strong partner ecosystem, create new opportunities for our partners, and accelerate Huawei Cloud adoption across the region.

Which markets, technologies and customer segments present the strongest growth opportunities for the Huawei–Hiperdist partnership?
Adil Ali: The UAE is a key growth market for the Huawei–Hiperdist partnership, with strong potential to expand across the wider Gulf region as cloud adoption continues to accelerate. With Hiperdist’s established presence across EMEA, we are well positioned to build on this regional channel foundation. From a technology perspective, we see strong opportunities across cloud migration, data services and AI. As demand for cloud services grows, there is increasing opportunity for partners to build and deliver services around these technologies. From a channel perspective, Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) represent a key growth area for us, along with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), System Integrators (SIs) and other cloud-focused partners. By building and enabling this partner ecosystem, we create routes to market for Huawei Cloud, helping partners develop new services and solutions while expanding Huawei Cloud’s reach across the region.

How is Hiperdist enabling partners to build the technical expertise, services capabilities and market reach needed to accelerate Huawei adoption?
Adil Ali: Hiperdist is focused on making partners Huawei Cloud-ready through structured onboarding, training and enablement, with access to Huawei Cloud expertise. We help partners build the technical and commercial capabilities required to understand, position and deliver Huawei Cloud services, while supporting them with solution development, pre-sales engagement and the resources needed to pursue cloud opportunities. We also provide the commercial framework and go-to-market support needed for partners to establish and grow their Huawei Cloud services, helping them confidently take these solutions to market.

What strategic role does Hiperdist play in expanding Huawei’s channel presence and addressing evolving customer requirements across the region?
Salman Syed: Hiperdist serves as a bridge between Huawei and its local partner network, supporting logistics, onboarding and market expansion. Huawei offers a strong technology portfolio, but extending its reach to thousands of resellers, system integrators and digital businesses requires established local relationships. Hiperdist acts as the value-added engine by recruiting suitable partners, strengthening their capabilities and helping them position Huawei’s cloud and infrastructure portfolio effectively. Customer expectations are evolving rapidly, with organisations seeking faster digital services, robust security and localised cloud performance. Hiperdist helps partners address these requirements by making Huawei’s portfolio accessible, easier to procure and supported locally.

Which areas of Huawei’s portfolio are generating the greatest channel demand, and where do you see the next phase of opportunity?
Salman Syed: Right now, the biggest pull from the channel is heavily centered around cloud migration, core infrastructure modernisation (compute and storage), and data management. Partners are bringing us deals because enterprises want to shift away from old legacy setups to agile, scalable cloud environments. Looking ahead, the next big wave of opportunity is clearly in Artificial Intelligence and advanced data analytics. Everyone is talking about AI, but customers need practical ways to apply it using tools like Huawei’s AI models and data services (such as MaaS Token, Model Arts, Data Arts & Code Arts).

The next phase is moving clients from basic cloud storage to running smart, AI-driven workloads that actually change how their businesses operate.

How is Huawei helping partners move beyond product-led engagements to deliver integrated solutions, services and measurable customer outcomes?
Salman Syed: Selling just a box or a single software license doesn’t cut it anymore, so the shift is all about enablement and joint solution building. Huawei and Hiperdist work together to give partners the technical training, architecture support, and pre-sales guidance they need to bundle things together. Instead of just pushing standalone products, we help partners package cloud infrastructure, security, and AI capabilities into complete, ready-to-go solutions for specific industries like government, retail, or finance. We also support them with funding programs, incentives, and enablement workshops so they can shift from being simple hardware or software resellers into trusted advisors who can walk into a boardroom and promise and prove real business results.
