RIYADH — The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has pledged to respond with unprecedented determination and force to any attempt targeting Saudi Arabia, its citizens, residents, or national assets, saying such measures will also safeguard the sovereignty of Yemen in accordance with customary international humanitarian law.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Coalition’s official spokesman, Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki, said recent Houthi statements against the Kingdom were an attempt to divert attention from the group’s grave violations against the Yemeni people and its efforts to shift the consequences of the economic crisis beyond Yemen’s borders.

Al-Maliki said the Houthi claims reflected the militia’s continued escalation and hostile behavior, accusing the group of undermining regional and international security.

He said Saudi Arabia, together with the Coalition and international partners, had worked to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people and support efforts to resolve the conflict through a political roadmap approved by the internationally recognized Yemeni government but rejected by the Houthis.

The spokesman also accused the Houthis of attacking sea lines of communication and international trade in the southern Red Sea and the Bab Al-Mandab Strait, actions had exposed Yemen’s critical infrastructure and economic facilities to destruction.

He cited damage affecting the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa and Salif, as well as Sana’a International Airport, power stations, industrial facilities and other key economic assets belonging to the Yemeni people.

Al-Maliki reiterated that the Coalition remains committed to protecting the security of Saudi Arabia while preserving Yemen’s sovereignty and supporting efforts to restore stability in the country.
