RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s GDP grew 2.8% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, driven by expansion across all major economic sectors, according to flash estimates by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). MAKKAH — In three separate incidents, three Saudi citizens and 19 residents were arrested for violating Hajj regulations. Hajj Security Forces arrested two citizens for violating Hajj regulations and instructions by transporting 17 Pakistani residents through unpaved roads and valleys in an attempt to enter Makkah and remain there without obtaining a Hajj permit. Authorities apprehended them and took legal action against them.
