RIYADH — Saudi Customs has recorded 900 contraband seizures at the Kingdom’s land, sea, and air ports during the last week.

The seized items include 133 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and Captagon pills, in addition to 291 other prohibited materials.

Customs ports also witnessed the foiling of attempts to smuggle 1,975 tobacco products and their derivatives, along with 28 types of cash and 3 types of weapons and related equipment.

The seizures were part of the ongoing efforts of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to enhance security and protect society from all types and forms of prohibited substances.

ZATCA affirmed its commitment to maintaining strict customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports to ensure the security and protection of society, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partners.

The authority urged the public to play their role in combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy, by contacting it on the number dedicated to security reports (1910) or via email ([email protected]) or the international number (009661910).

ZATCA ensured that it would receive reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the provisions of the Unified Customs Law through these channels in complete confidentiality, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the information in the provided report is correct.
