The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) called on the public and government, private, and non-profit entities to submit their views on a draft responsible artificial intelligence policy through the unified electronic platform for public and government consultations, Istitlaa Platform, in a step aimed at involving various stakeholders in developing regulatory frameworks for AI.

The objective is to enhance stakeholder and specialist participation in AI regulation decision-making, contributing to the organization of AI technology usage across its various applications, balancing innovation with responsible adoption, and enhancing trust in AI systems, while ensuring the protection of individuals and society and reducing potential risks.

The draft focuses on mitigating potential risks by adopting a preventive approach based on continuous assessment and effective response, and on clarifying roles and responsibilities for all relevant parties throughout the AI lifecycle. This enhances compliance and coordination among the government, private, and non-profit sectors and supports the achievement of national development objectives in this field.
