RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded a 53 percent increase in commercial franchise registrations during the first nine months of 2026, reaching 6,484 registrations, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The ministry reported that the total number of registered commercial franchises rose from 4,227 at the end of 2025 to 6,484 by the end of the third quarter of 2026.

The sectors recording the highest number of franchise registrations included food and beverages, fuel and petroleum, and fashion and apparel, among others.

The ministry highlighted the role of the Commercial Franchise Law in supporting the sector’s growth by regulating and developing franchise activities, enhancing transparency and protecting the rights of the parties involved.

The framework also aims to create an attractive investment environment, improve the quality of goods and services, and support the sustainability, growth and expansion of commercial activities.
