SettleMint and Utila sign MoU to secure next wave of tokenised finance

The partnership brings together SettleMint’s lifecycle platform and Utila’s secure, AI-ready digital asset infrastructure.

Tokenization is no longer a proof-of-concept exercise. As banks, fintechs, and market infrastructure providers prepare to bring digital assets into live operating environments, security and automation are becoming the difference between experimentation and scale.

SettleMint, the company behind the Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP), and Utila, a digital asset infrastructure provider for fintechs, banks, and enterprises, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to help institutions build tokenization projects with stronger wallet security, policy controls, settlement workflows, and AI-ready transaction infrastructure.

The collaboration targets a pressing gap in institutional digital assets: issuing a token is only the first step. To reach production, tokenized bonds, funds, deposits, equity, stablecoins, and other regulated assets need secure custody, programmable governance, compliance enforcement, settlement, servicing, and audit-ready records across the full asset lifecycle.

SettleMint and Utila will pursue joint client engagements, demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, regulatory sandbox initiatives, market education, and institutional digital asset solutions across Asia-Pacific and global markets.

Utila brings the security layer: self-custodial MPC wallets, granular policy controls, mint-and-burn governance, automation, treasury workflows, settlement capabilities, and multi-chain connectivity. Its infrastructure is designed to reduce single points of failure and ensure transactions follow institutional rules before they are signed.

SettleMint brings the lifecycle layer. DALP supports the design, deployment, management, and servicing of regulated tokenized instruments, connecting issuance, compliance, custody orchestration, settlement, and servicing in one operating environment.

“Tokenization is entering a new phase. Institutions are no longer asking whether assets can be issued on-chain; they are asking how those assets can be securely governed, serviced, settled, and scaled,” said Adam Popat, CEO at SettleMint.

“Our collaboration with Utila brings together the lifecycle infrastructure and operational security needed to move digital asset projects into production.”

“The next wave of tokenization will depend on infrastructure that is secure enough for institutions and programmable enough for automation,” said Bentzi Rabi, Co-Founder and CEO of Utila. “By working with SettleMint, we can help organisations pair token lifecycle management with wallet security, policy-based governance, and AI-ready transaction controls.”

The AI angle is becoming increasingly important. As financial institutions explore autonomous agents for payments, treasury operations, liquidity management, and programmable finance, digital asset infrastructure needs to do more than execute transactions. It needs to make sure automated actions remain permissioned, policy-bound, and secure.

For tokenization projects, that means AI-driven workflows must be able to initiate activity without exposing private keys, bypassing approval frameworks, or creating uncontrolled operational risk. Utila’s MPC wallet infrastructure and governance controls provide a signing and policy layer that can support this shift, while SettleMint’s DALP provides the lifecycle foundation for regulated assets from issuance through redemption or maturity.
