    Submer and Edgecore Networks sign MoU to accelerate AI-ready data centre infrastructure across the region

    Submer, a provider of end-to-end AI infrastructure, recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Edgecore Networks, a global provider of open networking and AI infrastructure solutions, to collaborate on AI-ready data centre infrastructure opportunities across the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa (META).

    The strategic collaboration brings together complementary capabilities across critical layers of the AI infrastructure stack. Submer provides advisory and consultancy, data centre design and build, IT integration, power infrastructure and advanced thermal management, while Edgecore brings its open, high-performance networking portfolio, spanning AI/ML switches, data centre networking, optical networking and disaggregated infrastructure designed to support demanding, high-bandwidth and low-latency workloads.

    As AI adoption accelerates across the region, the infrastructure required to support it is becoming increasingly complex. The rapid deployment of GPU-intensive workloads is driving higher rack densities, greater power requirements and significantly greater thermal loads, while sovereign AI initiatives are accelerating the need for scalable, resilient and locally deployable infrastructure.

    These requirements are making the traditional approach of designing facility, power, thermal management, compute and networking as separate layers increasingly difficult to scale. The Submer and Edgecore collaboration is designed to address this challenge by bringing complementary infrastructure capabilities together earlier in the design and deployment process.

    “The AI infrastructure market is entering a new phase. Customers are no longer simply looking for individual technologies; they need infrastructure that is engineered to work together from the outset”, said Khalid Aljamed, General Manager, Middle East, Türkiye and Africa at Submer. “As GPU densities increase, power, thermal management, networking and facility design become fundamentally interconnected. Our collaboration with Edgecore brings together complementary expertise to help customers approach these requirements as one coordinated infrastructure environment, supporting faster and more efficient deployment of AI capacity across the region”.

    “AI workloads are reshaping the requirements for data centre networking, particularly as GPU clusters scale in size and performance”, said Mingshou Liu, CEO of Edgecore Networks. “Edgecore’s open networking approach provides the flexibility and performance needed for these environments. By combining our networking capabilities with Submer’s expertise in advanced thermal and data centre infrastructure, we can help customers address the broader infrastructure requirements of high-density AI deployments in a more integrated way”.

    Bringing critical AI infrastructure layers together

    Under the MoU, Submer and Edgecore will explore joint solution development, customer opportunities and go-to-market initiatives across META.

    The collaboration will focus on:

    • Integrated AI infrastructure design: Combining Submer’s facility, power and thermal engineering capabilities with Edgecore’s high-performance networking infrastructure to support high-density AI and HPC environments.
    • Networking and IT integration: Supporting the integration of networking with compute, monitoring and other critical IT infrastructure to simplify deployment and operational management.
    • Advanced thermal management: Applying Submer’s thermal infrastructure capabilities to address the increasing thermal requirements of dense GPU and AI environments.
    • Joint solution development: Exploring architectures that align networking, power, cooling and facility requirements from the earliest stages of infrastructure planning.
    • Regional go-to-market collaboration: Developing joint opportunities with enterprises, data centre operators, service providers and organisations investing in sovereign and enterprise AI infrastructure across the region.
    • Customer deployment support: Helping organisations move from infrastructure planning and design toward operational AI-ready environments through a more coordinated approach.

    By bringing these infrastructure disciplines together, the partnership aims to reduce integration complexity, improve deployment readiness and provide customers with a clearer path from AI infrastructure design to operational capacity.

    Supporting the Region’s AI Infrastructure Ambitions

    The Middle East, Turkey and Africa region is experiencing accelerating investment in AI, cloud and digital infrastructure. In particular, national AI and digital transformation strategies across the Gulf are driving demand for increasingly sophisticated data center environments capable of supporting high-performance computing and dense GPU deployments.

    Saudi Arabia and the UAE are emerging as major centers for sovereign AI investment, creating demand not only for compute capacity but for the underlying infrastructure required to deploy that capacity at scale.

    The Submer-Edgecore collaboration is designed to support this evolution by connecting advanced thermal and facility infrastructure with open, high-performance networking, helping customers address the increasingly interconnected requirements of AI data centers.

    The announcement follows Submer’s continued expansion across META, including the establishment of its regional operations and Saudi Arabia headquarters. The collaboration with Edgecore further strengthens Submer’s ability to address the infrastructure requirements associated with high-density AI environments, spanning advisory, design and build, power and thermal solutions, and IT integration, complemented by Edgecore’s open networking capabilities.

    As AI workloads continue to push the boundaries of compute density and infrastructure performance, Submer and Edgecore aim to help organisations across META build and scale AI infrastructure with greater coordination, flexibility and deployment efficiency.
