RIYADH — Field patrols of the Special Forces for Environmental Security at the King Salman Royal Reserve apprehended four citizens for hunting without a license. They were found in possession of two air rifles and 15 hunted wild animals. The arrested persons were referred to the competent authorities after taking the necessary legal procedures.
The Special Forces for Environmental Security emphasized the importance of adhering to environmental regulations and their executive bylaws, which prohibit hunting wildlife. They confirmed that the penalty for hunting without a license is a fine of SR10,000 while hunting in prohibited areas carries a fine of SR5,000. The penalty for hunting the common warbler without a license is also a fine of SR5,000.
The Special Forces urged the public to report any cases of environmental or wildlife abuse by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom.
