King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH) in Jeddah has received Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education, allowing it to provide accredited continuing education for healthcare teams.

The accreditation was granted by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It recognizes institutions that deliver high-quality education bringing together professionals from different healthcare disciplines to improve team performance and patient outcomes.

KFSH Jeddah earned the accreditation after meeting a rigorous set of standards. These included identifying gaps in professional practice and learning needs, developing multidisciplinary educational activities, using active-learning methods and aligning programs with the competencies required of healthcare teams. The hospital also demonstrated its ability to measure educational outcomes and uphold standards of integrity and independence in accredited continuing education.

Initiatives supporting the accreditation included active, case-based learning involving multiple healthcare disciplines and a structured framework for measuring the outcomes and impact of educational programs. They also included medication-safety initiatives and efforts to prevent needle-stick injuries.

The accreditation will help strengthen collaboration across healthcare disciplines, build the capabilities of healthcare teams and support improvements in patient safety and quality of care. It will also help turn education into measurable improvements in clinical practice while supporting the continued growth and development of multidisciplinary education programs.

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre has been ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 12th globally among the world’s top 250 academic medical centers for 2026. It was also recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East for 2026, according to Brand Finance, and listed by Newsweek among the World’s Best Hospitals, World’s Best Smart Hospitals, and World’s Best Specialized Hospitals for 2026.
