    Saudi Border Guard arrests four, seizes 102 kg of khat in Asir, Jazan operations

    JAZAN/ASIR — Border Guard land patrols arrested four Yemeni nationals in separate cases in Asir and Jazan for attempting to smuggle a total of 102 kilograms of khat, while an operation in Jazan thwarted the smuggling of 14 kilograms of hashish and 63,500 pills.

    In Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Rabuah Sector arrested one Yemeni national for violating the Border Security Law and attempting to smuggle 20 kilograms of khat.

    In Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Harth Sector arrested three Yemeni nationals for violating the Border Security Law and attempting to smuggle 82 kilograms of khat.

    In a separate operation in Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Dair Sector thwarted an attempt to smuggle 63,500 pills subject to medical circulation regulations and 14 kilograms of hashish.

    Authorities said initial legal procedures were completed in all three cases, with the suspects, where applicable, and seized items handed over to the competent authority.

    The authorities urged the public to report information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, 999 in the rest of the

    Kingdom, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

    Reports can also be submitted to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control via email at [email protected].

    Authorities stressed that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality and that informants will bear no responsibility for the reported incident.
