    Saudi Border Guard seizes 276 kg of narcotics, 97,034 pills in Jazan and Asir

    RIYADH — Saudi Border Guard seized a combined 276 kilograms of narcotics and 97,034 regulated medical tablets during two separate smuggling attempts in the Jazan and Asir regions.

    In Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Aridah Sector thwarted an attempt to smuggle 176 kilograms of hashish and 97,034 tablets subject to medical circulation controls.

    In a separate operation in Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Rabwa Sector arrested five border security violators of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationalities for attempting to smuggle 100 kilograms of khat.

    Border Guard in Jazan confiscate 176 kilograms of hashish and 97,034 tablets subject to medical circulation controls.

    Authorities said the necessary preliminary legal procedures had been completed. The seized narcotics in Jazan were handed over to the competent authority, while in Asir the suspects and the seized drugs were referred to the relevant authority.

    The Border Guard urged the public to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, 999 in the rest of the Kingdom, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
