Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Saudi Arabia Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Dahirou Dembélé and his accompanying delegation today visited the headquarters of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC). The visit aimed to enhance cooperation and coordination in counterterrorism and countering extremism efforts.

The ambassador was received by IMCTC Secretary-General Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the coalition’s efforts, programs, and strategic initiatives aimed at supporting member states and building their capacities in the intellectual, media, and military fields, as well as in combating terrorist financing.

They also discussed prospects for cooperation with Mali in a manner that contributes to enhancing regional security and stability.

The meeting reviewed the regional program for Sahel countries launched by the coalition in Mali in 2025. The program aims to strengthen cooperation among member states in addressing the challenges of terrorism and terrorist financing through joint action, information and expertise exchange, and national capacity building. These efforts contribute to strengthening regional and international counterterrorism initiatives.

The Malian ambassador expressed his appreciation for the role played by IMCTC and said his country highly values the efforts led by Saudi Arabia through the coalition. He also praised its initiatives and practical programs that contribute to capacity building and strengthen cooperation among member states.

Dembélé emphasized that collective action and the exchange of expertise are fundamental to confronting the threat of terrorism and eliminating its sources.
